PRAISE FOR THE PRESENT When I think of Rebecca and of her work, the word "mighty" comes to mind. Her paintings are powerful, important, psychedelic, supernatural and classical. They are rooted in history but posses a certain timeless magic-as if the images could breathe on their own. The figures-so fabulously choreographed and musical and ephemeral-seem to exist without gravity. And yet, something anchors them to our earth and to our rawest humanity. Rebecca's work is full of heart. It seemingly cherishes moments of joy, delicacy, and intimacy when the broader image feels severe and uneasy. This book took me somewhere outside of my time and space. It is a true delight. -Anna Weyant
